When do these little beings, we call our babies, learn to think and make their own decisions? Were my eyes closed while she learned to speak up and tell me her opinion and her wants?
Daddy got home from work later than usual today and was sitting in his car finishing up some work before he came in. Kelsey and I went out to meet him and he opened his door and let her sit in the passenger seat. She was loving it. I was standing out side looking in at the huge smile on her face. Dinner was in the oven so I opened the car door to get her out and let Lou finish up. I said "come one bear, let's go do puzzles while mommy finishes" normally this is enough said and she comes right with me (and she LOVES puzzles). But this time she looked up at me and said "I want to hang out with daddy" .....and so she did.

Its somewhere around 12-14 months. Two weeks ago Maddie opened the door to my office (when did she learn to open doors?), gave me a hug and kiss, then left closing the door behind her. Heather was down the hall unaware this started.
